The People Who Make Camp Feel Like Home
My love for language began while I was studying French in Montpellier, France, and also being an au pair. By spending time in this beautiful city, I immersed myself in a new culture and saw firsthand how challenging and rewarding it can be to learn a language while living abroad. A passion I am eager to share and support with children learning the English language.
I then qualified as an ESL Tutor and began teaching children and adults from around the world. I spent some time living in Turkiye and experienced another culture and language. I’ve met wonderful people, but all via a computer screen. I wanted something more dynamic, more real. Now, we can leave the laptop behind and bring language alive through laughter, adventure, and face-to-face connection.
The surroundings of my childhood in Türkiye sparked my love for travel. Studying tourism and management since the age of 15, my career has evolved from tourism and education to helping people explore, learn, and connect across cultures. When Ellie and I came up with the idea for an English Summer Camp, I couldn’t think of a better purpose for both our skills.
As someone who’s also learned languages, I understand the excitement and frustrations that come with it. The secret? Creating a supportive environment where consistency, authenticity, and a variety of learning techniques deliver life benefits, which we’re eager to offer our students.
