Frequently Asked Questions

Answering Your Questions About Our Summer Camp

What ages can attend your English summer camp?

Our camp accepts students aged 8 to 15 years old. We believe this is a significant time in a child’s learning journey, and our lessons, activities and trips will be suitable to meet the learning needs of their age.

What is the cost of your summer camp?

Our English Summer Camp is priced at £2,300 (2026 pricing) paid upon application. This covers two weeks’ accommodation, three meals a day, classroom supplies, excursions, and 24/7 on-site support.

What’s included in the two weeks?

The cost of the two-week summer camp covers two weeks’ accommodation, three homemade meals a day, a minimum of 15 hours of English lessons a week, afternoon activities, two excursions (including travel costs), free time and evening social gatherings. Students will also receive a keepsake gift pack upon arrival.

What You Can Expect From The 2 Weeks

What does a typical day look like?

We start the day around 8:30 am with a communal breakfast before heading to morning lessons. We break for lunch, and the afternoon will consist of either sports, activities, or excursions. We join together for our evening meal before any evening entertainment or chillout time. We ensure a balanced day of learning, playing, and relaxing across the two weeks.

What level of English do you accept from your students?

We welcome students of all English proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced. Each student will have a pre-meeting before arriving at camp, which will help us plan lessons tailored to their ability. This allows everyone to progress and feel confident in their English learning.

How many students do you have at your camp and in lessons at any one time?

We have purposely created a boutique summer camp, enrolling 10 to 20 students for the two weeks. Our classes will consist of smaller groups for more focused teaching, with students coming together for sports, social activities, and excursions. This ensures that each student receives sufficient attention from the tutors, leading to improved learning.

What qualifications do your tutors have?

Our English tutors hold recognised TEFL/CELTA or similar qualifications, and have experience working with international students. Our team are also trained in youth supervision, first aid training, and safeguarding.

How do you ensure the safety and welfare of your students?

Safety is our top priority. All staff undergo a full background and DBS check, we have on-site first aiders, and emergency procedures are in place. We also have protocols in place to ensure the safety of our students while in our care.

What happens if my child needs medical attention?

We have dedicated first-aiders available 24/7 on-site who can deal with minor injuries or illnesses. For anything serious, we have doctors available through our NHS service. Parents will be contacted and updated in every instance, and all students will be required to have medical and travel insurance.

What meals and dietary options are included?

Meals are included in the camp’s cost and are prepared on-site by the Moulton College kitchen. We offer three nutritious meals a day, and a shop is on site for students who wish to purchase additional snacks. We cater to all dietary requirements and will request this information as part of your application.

What if my child has accessibility or special requirements for their stay?

Mouton College is equipped for wheelchair access, and any necessary transport can accommodate accessibility needs. For any other requirements, such as medical conditions, allergies, or anxieties, please include this information within your application, and we can discuss all aspects during your pre-camp meeting.

What is the accommodation like?

Moulton College offers bright, modern spaces for your child’s stay. Surrounded by fields, animals, and local amenities, everything is within walking distance. Student accommodation comprises single or twin rooms with en-suite facilities, free Wi-Fi, and laundry facilities as needed. So, students can feel at home.

What type of activities and excursions will you be organising?

Activities may include a variety of:

  • Sports such as tennis, football, or netball.
  • Creative arts such as drama, music, or crafting.
  • Outdoor adventure such as orienteering and team challenges.
  • Days out such as local towns, cultural visits, and city trips, including London.

How do activities and excursions support learning English?

Through our own learning experience, we’ve found that using the native language in day-to-day activities is an easier and faster way to understand how English is used and spoken. By introducing skills such as maths, navigation, finance, and problem-solving, you learn more than just spelling and grammar.

How does summer camp help with personal development beyond speaking English?

We believe that time spent in another country helps students develop confidence, independence, teamwork, communication skills, and cultural awareness. These are skills they can take far beyond the classroom and incorporate into their professional and personal futures.

How much English will my child speak during the camp?

Students will be encouraged to speak English from the moment they arrive until the day they leave. They will be using English to engage with other international students as well as interacting with tutors and the public during their time with us.

How will you communicate with parents during the camp?

Parents will receive daily updates about their child’s time at the summer camp, sharing pictures of their experiences (with consent). You can also follow our social media posts, and we have 24/7 emergency contacts if you have any concerns.

What should students pack/bring to camp?

The UK weather can be unpredictable! A suggested packing checklist includes:

  • Comfortable everyday clothing
  • Activewear
  • Waterproof Jacket
  • Comfortable trainers
  • Hat/sunscreen
  • Notebook and pens
  • Personal toiletries
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Mobile phone and charger
  • Any medication required

How long is your summer camp?

Our English summer camp lasts for two weeks. Students arrive on a Monday and leave on a Monday (two weeks later). We will confirm dates with you upon acceptance of your child’s application.

Where is your English summer camp?

Our summer camp is located in Moulton, a village situated on the edge of Northampton’s town centre in England. It is located among cottages, rolling fields, and winding lanes, retaining its historical charm while also featuring many modern amenities. It offers the space and beauty of England’s countryside while being close enough to reach iconic cities and landmarks.

What is your refund or cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • 100% payable 0-14 days prior to or after start date.
  • 50% payable 15-30 days prior to start date.
  • £500 charge 31-60 days prior to start date.
  • £200 charge 61+ days prior to start date.

For visa refusal, a refund will be given if cancellation is received in writing, along with a visa refusal notice, at least two weeks prior to the course commencement date. No refund will be given if cancellation is made less than two weeks prior to the course commencing, or if a visa rejection is based on the student’s failure to meet the necessary criteria for their chosen visa category. All refunds based on the grounds of visa refusal will be minus a registration fee of £200.

Who is responsible for applying for our child’s Visa for travel to the UK?

It is the parents’ responsibility to check the visa requirements for entry into the UK and, if necessary, obtain an appropriate visa for your child’s period of study. Information on visas can be found on the UK Home Office website: www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk

Supporting documents required from us will only be issued once payment has been made in full and all other required documentation has been received.
